Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is therapy right for me?

Through the years mental health treatment has proven to be a productive resource for individuals, couples and families who are struggling with a wide range of conflicts. Eastside Marriage & Family Therapy views the client as the expert in their life while offering professional therapeutic interventions that are aimed at meeting mutually agreed upon goals to reduce the conflict and develop skills to help maintain wellness.

  • Why choose a Marriage and Family Therapist?

Marriage and family therapists are licensed professionals trained in individual psychotherapy as well as family systems to assess and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and address a wide range of relationship issues within the context of marital/couple, family and various relational systems.

  • Do you offer online therapy?

Yes! Eastside Marriage & Family Therapy does offer online sessions (using a Skype-like platform, but HIPAA compliant and secure) so that you can attend your therapy sessions remotely. Research shows that they can be just as effective as in-person appointments. Please contact me with any questions about the process.

  • Do you take insurance?

Eastside Marriage & Family Therapy is a fee for service practice. This gives clients the ability to dictate the length and pace of therapy while maintaining complete anonymity.

Please contact us with questions regarding fees. Sliding fee scale available on a limited basis. Accepted forms of payment are cash, check and all major credit cards. All sessions are reimbursable by Flex spending and Health Savings Accounts.

  • Do you prescribe medication?

Marriage and Family Therapists are not qualified to prescribe medications. If during the course of treatment it is discovered that medication should be considered, a referral will be made for you to consult with a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner to help you explore this option further

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Eastside Marriage & Family Therapy values your time and makes it a priority to be present and on time for scheduled appointments. It is appreciated that you do the same. Please note that 48 hours notice is required to cancel or change an appointment in order to avoid being billed for the full 50 minute session.
